Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Linkly (“Linkly”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, who it is shared with, and how long it is kept. It applies to your use of Linkly's services — our websites, apps, and related features (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. Capitalized terms come from the Terms of Service.
The short version: Linkly is a public sharing product. Content you publish — your profile, public collections, biolink, comments, likes, and follows — is public by design, visible to anyone on the internet, and may be indexed, cached, and re-shared beyond our control. Do not post anything you want to keep private.
1. Information you give us
- Account information. Your email address and password, or the sign-in credentials shared with us when you use a third-party sign-in option such as Google.
- Profile data. Username, display name, bio, avatar, cover image, timezone, and privacy settings.
- Your Content. Collections, links, titles, notes, biolink pages, synced browser bookmarks, comments, likes, follows, and uploaded images.
- Settings and declarations. Preferences including language, notification and email settings, whether sensitive (NSFW) content is enabled, and your self-declaration that you are over 18.
- Messages to us. Contact-form submissions (name, email, message) and in-product reports (reason and details).
2. Information collected automatically
- Usage information. We collect information about how the Service is used — the profiles, collections, biolinks, and links that people (with or without an account) view and click, together with technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the approximate location we infer from the IP address. We use this to operate and secure the Service and to show creators aggregated statistics about their audience (“Insights”); creators never see information that directly identifies an individual visitor.
- Device and connection information. When you are signed in, we keep a record of the devices and sessions connected to your account — browser or device type, IP address, approximate location, and last activity — so you can review them and sign out of any of them in your settings.
- Analytics, diagnostics, and crash data. We and our analytics providers collect information about how you interact with our apps — feature usage, performance, errors, and crashes — to understand, improve, and debug the Service. On the web this runs only with your consent (see the Cookie Policy).
- Advertising information. Where ads are shown, we and our advertising partners (including Google) may collect device identifiers and information about how you interact with ads.
- Notifications and devices. If you turn on notifications, we store the technical identifiers needed to deliver them to your device.
- Link previews. When a link is added to Linkly, we collect publicly available information about the destination page — such as its title, description, and preview image — to display link previews.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service (contract; legitimate interests).
- Show creators aggregated Insights about visits to their content (legitimate interests).
- Personalize feeds, discovery, and recommendations, and measure feature usage (legitimate interests; consent where required).
- Enforce our Terms, moderate content, prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and protect users (legitimate interests; legal obligation).
- Determine your country from your IP address to apply legally required regional restrictions — for example hiding sensitive (NSFW) content in jurisdictions that mandate age assurance, such as the UK (legal obligation).
- Send service emails (security, account lifecycle) and, per your settings, notification and digest emails (contract; consent).
- Display advertising and measure its performance (consent where required).
- Provide AI features. We use artificial-intelligence providers to classify links and to generate collection summaries and topics. For these features, limited content about the links in a collection — page titles, descriptions, and short text excerpts from the destination pages — is sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. Public collections are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in organizing and describing public content. Private collections are processed only after the owner explicitly allows AI processing in the product (consent). AI processing can be turned off per collection at any time, which excludes that collection from all AI features. We send AI providers only the link content described above — never your account details or identity.
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests (legal obligation).
Where we ask you to confirm your age, we store only your confirmation — not identity documents. We may use signals such as your location to apply age-related restrictions required by law.
4. What is public
Your profile (username, display name, bio, avatar, cover), your public collections and their contents, your biolink page, your published bookmark folders, your comments, likes, and follow relationships are public by default and visible to anyone, including people without accounts, search engines, and archives. Private accounts and private collections limit visibility inside the Service, but anything once public may already have been copied elsewhere. Follower and following lists are visible to signed-in users subject to your privacy settings.
5. Who we share information with
- Service providers. Vendors that help us provide the Service — hosting, content delivery, storage, analytics, advertising, email delivery, push notifications, and support tooling. They process information on our behalf and under our instructions.
- AI providers. For the AI features described in §3, link titles, descriptions, and short page excerpts from collections are shared with third-party AI providers that generate classifications, summaries, and topics on our behalf and under our instructions.
- Other users and the public — as described in §4.
- Authorities. We may access, preserve, and disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms; to detect or prevent fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Linkly, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. We may share, sell, or transfer information about you in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
We operate globally. Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and countries in the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or our providers' recognized compliance frameworks. By using the Service you acknowledge this transfer and processing.
7. Retention
- Account, profile, content, and social data: kept while your account exists; deleted as described in §8.
- Usage and Insights information: kept while the related account or content exists, to power historical statistics; deleted with the related account or content.
- Signed-in session records: deleted when you revoke them or after a period of inactivity.
- Data-export bundles: available for 7 days, then expire.
- Contact-form messages, reports, and moderation records: kept as long as needed for support, safety, and legal purposes.
- Backups and logs: rotated on a commercially reasonable schedule.
8. Your rights and controls
- Access and portability. Request a machine-readable export of your profile, settings, and content in settings (Data & Privacy).
- Correction. Edit your profile, content, and settings at any time.
- Deletion. Delete your account in settings. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period during which you can restore it; after that we permanently delete your account, content, settings, sessions, notifications, and uploaded media, and instruct our service providers to delete the information they process for us. Copies held by other users and residual backups may persist for a limited period.
- AI processing. Turn AI features off for any collection you own in its settings. Private collections are never sent to AI providers unless you have explicitly allowed AI processing.
- Consent and objection. Manage cookies and analytics on the Cookie Policy page or via the cookie banner; disable email and push notifications in settings; sign out devices in settings.
- Complaints. If you are in the EEA or UK you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Wherever you are, contact us first and we will try to resolve it.
We honor the rights granted by the law that applies to you (such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, or Türkiye's KVKK). We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
9. Children and age limits
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data; if we learn we have, we delete it. Sensitive (NSFW) content is limited to users who declare they are 18 or older, and is additionally unavailable in jurisdictions whose law restricts adult content without age assurance, based on where you appear to be accessing the Service from. If you believe a child is using the Service, report it via the contact form.
10. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and to the maximum extent permitted by law we cannot and do not guarantee the security of any information you transmit to or store on the Service; you do so at your own risk. If a breach affects you and the law requires notice, we will notify you.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy at any time by posting the new version here with an updated date. Material changes will be signposted in the product where reasonably practicable. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect is your acceptance of it.
12. Contact
Privacy questions and requests: use the contact form or email [email protected] (data protection: [email protected]). This document is written in English; translations, if any, are for convenience only and the English version controls.
